Surf and paddle boarding lessons are available for groups and one on one lessons, or explore the secret beaches along the local coastline with a half/full day 'secret spot' adventure. Board hire is available if you wish to get out there on your own. Trent Munro Surf Academy also offers the Surf Groms program for the youngsters (aged 5 - 12 years), with an extensive 4 day learn to surf program run throughout the School Holidays.
Australia’s only Island Golf Course venue is surrounded by the pristine Nambucca River with dolphins, birds and wildlife centre stage. Play a round of golf on the 18 hole course, which is both challenging in design and play. The tranquil river setting adjacent to the licensed Golf Club Clubhouse, is BBQ and picnic facilities for the public’s enjoyment. The riverbank here is a popular fishing spot and it’s a great place to laze and watch the river traffic including, if you’re lucky, the odd dolphin.

The little settlement of Taylor’s Arm lies a scenic 27km west of Macksville and surrounded by State Forests, National Parks and great swimming holes on the Taylor’s Arm River. There are a number of facilities for visitors to enjoy including barbeques, tennis courts and a cricket pitch.
Drive through the Upper Nambucca Valley Mountains to see the Bollanolla Nature Reserve and the Viewmont State Forest on the Nambucca Valla Loop or Williams Hill Loop. The scenic drive boasts an endless network of forest trails, lush green hinterland roads, creeks and rainforest drives.
There are plenty of opportunities to stop off along the way to explore the historical towns, enjoy a picnic, cool off with a swim or throw a line in.

Nambucca Heads Main Beach is patrolled in the summer school holidays and weekends from October to Easter Weekend, making it a family friendly and safe environment for swimming and water activities. Main Beach boasts the Nambucca Heads Surf Life Saving Club, public bathrooms and showers and a bus service into town. Dolphins are regularly spotted close to shore, and Humpback whales are often spotted in the Spring. Surfing, swimming, wind surfing, sea kayaking, para-siling and boogie boarding are regular activities on Main Beach!
Scotts Head Main (Forster) Beach is patrolled on summer weekends and school holidays, making it the perfect place for a safe family day out to the beach! The sand is 'squeaky' clean, perfect for making sand castles and the point is a favourite spot for malibu's, wave skiers and beginners. There is a viewing platform and lookout on the Surf Club Headland, ideal for spotting dolphins, whales and sea birds. There are covered, free gas barbeque and picnic facilities for you to enjoy a picnic lunch with family and friends, and a Children's playgrround for the kids!
