The Esplanade

Leave the car behind and walk, cycle or rollerblade along the beautiful Hervey Bay Esplanade. The 14km long shared pathway stretches from the Urangan Harbour at the eastern end of the city to Gatakers Bay in the west. You can tackle The Esplanade in one go, or you can break it up into smaller trips.

Urangan Pier

A must see attraction at Queensland's Fraser Coast is Hervey Bay's famous and historic Urangan Pier - it's one of the longest in Australia and stretches for almost one kilometre into the ocean.

A walk to the end will reward with spectacular views of Hervey Bay and the chance to see schools of fish, stingrays or pods of dolphin just metres out to sea.

WetSide Waterpark

This free water park features hundreds of spouts and jets, fountains interactive play equipment, water slides, surfing, special play area for under-5’s called TotSide, tipping buckets, music and a giant water screen. The site also includes a coffee shop, viewing decks and boardwalks, educational displays, amenities blocks and the pay-per-use Board Rider wave machine.

Reefworld Aquarium

A natural reef aquarium, using sand filtered sea water and natural sunlight, Reefworld Aquarium aims to preserve the marine creatures in the most natural way possible, home to a myriad of colourful tropical fish, coral displays, sharks, turtles and crabs. Dare to take a dip with the resident sharks or if you want to play it safe, enjoy getting up and close with the smaller creatures at the touch tank.


Tasman Venture

Explore the stunning Fraser Coast with Tasman Venture Hervey Bay, with a range of whale watching and Fraser Island tours.

Hervey Bay Historical Village Museum

An enjoyable afternoon can be spent browsing through the 19 buildings in the grounds of the Hervey Bay Historical Village.

The Museum gives a fascinating glimpse into Hervey Bay's past. Thousands of household items and implements used in business, in the homes and on the farms in the 1800's are found him with clothes worn in that period, the wagons the pioneers drove and the books they read.
