Head to the beach
Ingenia Holiday Parks has great coastal locations from the Great Ocean Road to the Great Barrier Reef, many of them just steps from the beach. Pack a picnic and head on down to the sand for a game of beach cricket, a splash in the sea and a generally relaxed and enjoyable day.
Go for a hike
Alternatively, take a drive inland and appreciate the cooler temperatures to be found on rainforest walks. Simply enjoy the dappled shade or head off on an adventure to discover picturesque waterfalls and swimming holes where the water temperatures stay cool year-round.
Animal encounters
Australia Day is as good a day as any to treat the kids to an encounter with Aussie animals. Take the kids along to a local animal sanctuary, zoo or aquarium (depending on where you’re on holiday) and learn about our native wildlife.
