Unless you’re a local, glued to google, or one of those ‘in the know’, you can sometimes miss out on discovering those cultural hot spots, local events and festivals when on holidays. So if you plan to escape the big smoke this April and roam the regions of one of our many park destinations, be sure to stop in and soak up the local buzz at these great events and festivals!

Four Winds Easter Festival (28 Mach – 1 April)

Lake Macquarie | Broulee | Lake Conjola

Surround yourself with a feast of arts and crafts, local eats and above all, a celebration of music from across the globe. From humble beginnings, the Four Winds Festival has transformed into one of Australia’s most well-established leading arts and music festivals. Showcasing a jam packed schedule of instrumental, vocal and iconic bands, there’s a taste of variety to suite every palate and plenty to get you jiving to the rhythm and beats.

Running over the Easter long weekend, head to the Four Winds Festival to check out the spectacular line-up. Located xxx the festival is near the Ingenia Holiday destination Lake Macquarie, Broulee and Lake Conjola – Visit Ingenia Holidays Parks to check availability.

Cessnock Stomp Festival (8 April)

Hunter Valley

Be sure to invest in that salt sea scub, or pedi before disembarking to the Hunter Valley! The Cessnock Stomp Festival highlights the exciting tradition of stomping grapes – because what else do you celebrate in wine country?!! Located in the heart of Cessnock, the festival is only a short 6 minute drive from Ingenia Holidays Hunter Valley. Guaranteed to deliver the very best the Hunter region has on offer, from wine (duh), to food and fun. A one day event with all the trimmings; it’s a definite must-visit if you’re in the area!

Annual Yachting Regatta (9 – 15 April)

Soldiers Point | One Mile Beach

Pull out the stripes and dust off your boat shoes, because yachting season is about to hit Port Stephens! The Annual Yachting Regatta is a festival for water babies and yachting enthusiasts, spotlighting competitive races, including the Commodores Cup, Australian Sports Boat Nationals, to the Junior One-Sail Series; all taking place in one of the East Coasts most picturesque locations, Port Stephens. So if you like boats, or the thrill of competition we recommend checking it out! Even if it’s simply admiring the splendour of these beautiful boats from the dock and dreaming of becoming the next James Packer 😉

Festival Cairns (4 – 15 April)

Cairns

Our friends in the tropics are stoked to be hosting the preliminary basketball sets for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. So much so, they’ve created a whole festival experience, set to far reach the grounds of the sports stadium out into the streets of the Cairns Esplanade. Presenting a bold arts and cultural program, Festival Cairns will highlight local flavours, arts and crafts, music and the natural beauty of the region.

If any of the above festivals have peaked your interest and you’re yet to book your April stay, be sure to head to Ingenia Holidays to choose from our range of accommodation offerings – including camping, powered caravan sites and cabins.
