The Endless Summer (1966)

This iconic documentary has become a mainstay of summer beach movies. It follows surfers as they search the world for the perfect wave, visiting stunning beach locations in this too cool, sun soaked film.

The Talented Mr Ripley (1999)

This captivating thriller combines high tension drama with the golden sunshine and charming vistas of the Italian coast, to create an intriguingly entertaining film.

National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983)

This is one of Chevy Chase’s most loved movies, and proves that the journey really is the real destination, albeit one that is filled with chaos, mayhem and endless hijinks.

Embrace the melodrama and girl power with this young adult favourite, following four best friends who are forced to spend summer apart and the magical pair of pants that keeps them together.

Adventureland (2009)

If you’ve ever had to work through summer when you wanted to be off exploring the world, then you will identify with this indie drama/comedy that follows a college graduate as he slaves away at an amusement park that has seen better days.

Point Break (1991)

Surfing and bank robbers… need we say more? This cult classic follows an FBI agent as he infiltrates a gang of surfers in an attempt to solve a sting of bizarre bank robberies.

Grease (1978)

Whether you’re watching it for the first time or the hundredth, Grease is a much loved classic filled with quotable lines, great songs to sing along to and of course summer lovin’.

The Parent Trap (1998)

This remake of the 1961 original put Lindsay Lohan in the spot light, playing twin sisters from opposite sides of the world who meet by accident at an American summer camp. It’s a fun and whimsical family favourite that the kids (and big kids) will love.
