There is nothing quite like the freedom of catching a great wave, so it is no wonder that surfing has become a favourite pastime with visitors and locals along Australia’s east coast.

Whether you are just learning or a seasoned surfer, here are some of our picks for your next surfing holiday.

Little Cove is a beautiful protected beach surrounded by trees and is a great spot for beginners and longboarders. For more experienced surfers, take the coastal walking track through the National Park to a local favourite, Tea Tree Bay. You will need to keep an eye out for rocks however in the right conditions you can catch some awesome waves, plus the gorgeous scenery and chance of spotting dolphins and turtles make it well worth a visit.

Cabarita is a great choice for consistent swell in all tides and offers more protection from the northerly winds than most beaches in the area. It is an ideal spot for those still learning while more experienced surfers can enjoy some prime surfing at the point. Those wishing to take a swim or just relax and appreciate the scenery will also love Cabarita, making it a fabulous family day out.
