Ingenia Holidays to provide new home for great apes at Mogo Zoo

10 August 2017

Ingenia Holidays is proud to announce we are sponsoring the internationally recognised Mogo Zoo to support its rare and critically endangered exotic great apes. Nestled in lush rural bushland and stretching across 81 acres, Mogo Zoo provides world class facilities for more than 200 animals across 47 rare and exotic species.

The project will see an alteration and renovation of the current Western Lowlands exhibit into an amazing Orangutan exhibit and adjoining that, the construction of a new world class Western Lowlands Gorilla exhibit.

The new exhibit design and concept is heavily based on best animal husbandry standards and enrichment practices will feature a moated barrier instead of traditional building materials that will create a real sense of openness for the animals and provide an enhanced unobstructed view for visitors.

Boasting the largest collection of primates in any zoo in Australia, Mogo Zoo will soon welcome a new breeding male gorilla and two new orangutans into the Ingenia Great Ape Exhibit.

Mogo Zoo owner Sally Padley said the new partnership has helped to provide a new home for two orangutans, Jantan and Willow, from Taronga Zoo. “The Ingenia Great Ape Exhibit will help to educate and raise awareness on the plight of the great apes worldwide,” Ms Padley said.

Ingenia looks forward to actively supporting Mogo Zoo and its initiatives in animal conservation and education. We are very excited to be partnering with Mogo Zoo, to connect the young and the young at heart with rare and endangered animals.

To launch the new exhibit, Ingenia Holidays will offer guests a chance to win the Ultimate NSW South Coast Adventure with an up close and personal wildlife experience at Mogo Zoo, Safari Accommodation Package and Mogo Zoo Family membership.  Guests can choose from one of our three parks within the region: Ingenia Holidays Broulee  (with safari tents coming soon!) Ingenia Holidays Lake Conjola or Ingenia Holidays Ocean Lake.
